Annual House Function – 2026

A Celebration of Talent and Culture

Laxman Public School celebrated its much-awaited Annual House Function 2026 with immense enthusiasm and grandeur on 7th and 8th May 2026. The two-day cultural extravaganza witnessed remarkable performances by students belonging to the six houses of the school — Aradhana, Bhakti, Chetna, Dharma, Ekta, and Gyan. Students from Classes VI to XII participated wholeheartedly, showcasing their creativity, discipline, teamwork, and artistic excellence through a variety of cultural presentations.

The House Function, an integral part of the school’s cultural tradition, provided students with a vibrant platform to nurture confidence, leadership, and artistic expression. This year’s event was particularly memorable due to its rich thematic diversity and the exceptional standard of performances across all categories. Under the inspiring guidance and encouragement of the Principal, Ms Seema Bharti Mishra, students and teachers worked with great dedication and enthusiasm to make the event a resounding success.

The occasion was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries and special guests, including Mr Bharat Agarwal, Member of the Managing Committee, PTA and EC Body Members, they added prestige and encouragement to the event.

The programme commenced on an auspicious note with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment, followed by a graceful Invocation Dance that created a serene and dignified atmosphere for the event.

The competition was organised under four categories — Group Dance, Theatre, Hindi Choir, and Western Choir — each thoughtfully curated around unique themes.

The Group Dance category celebrated the cultural richness and diversity of India through mesmerising folk dances representing different states such as Assam, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Kerala, Gujarat, and Kashmir. The colourful costumes, energetic choreography, and authentic musical compositions transported the audience across the vibrant cultural landscape of the nation.

The Theatre category featured powerful performances based on the works of Shakespeare and other renowned authors. Students delivered their presentations with confidence and maturity, bringing celebrated literary works to life through expressive acting, effective dialogue delivery, and impressive stagecraft.

The Hindi Choir category paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary singers includingBharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh, Hemant Kumar Mukherjee,Jagjit Singh and Asha Bhosle. The heartfelt performances celebrated the timeless charm of Indian music and captivated the audience

The Western Choir category revolved around the inspiring theme, “Voices of Humanity”. Through harmonious melodies and meaningful lyrics, students spread messages of peace, unity, hope, compassion, and global brotherhood.

Every participating house displayed remarkable dedication and artistic excellence. The students, guided by their teachers, worked tirelessly to present performances of the highest standard, making the event a resounding success.

The event was judged by the school’s esteemed former teachers — Ms Anita Baraya, Ms Nirupama Ranjan, Ms Geeta Khanna, and Ms Radha Marar. Their valuable observations and words of encouragement added immense significance to the occasion.

The overall coordination of the House Function was efficiently undertaken by Ms Seema Kathuria and Seema Banerjee, whose meticulous planning and tireless efforts ensured the smooth execution of the programme.

The School Manager, B M Mudgal, conveyed his blessings and appreciated the efforts of all participants, encouraging students to continue pursuing excellence in co-curricular activities alongside academics.

The formal Vote of Thanks expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Music and Dance teachers; the House Masters; the Art Department for the stage decoration and prop arrangements; the Physical Education Department for maintaining discipline; the teachers who extended their constant support throughout the rehearsals, costume arrangements, and overall preparation of the event; Mr Gursharan Singh along with Mr Neeraj Bajpai and Mr Saroj Jha for the overall arrangements; and the Group C staff members for their invaluable backstage support throughout the programme.

The success of House Function 2026 also stands as a reflection of the inspiring leadership and unwavering encouragement of the Principal, Ms Seema Bharti Mishra. Her vision, guidance, and continuous support played a pivotal role in making the event a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.

The House Function 2026 concluded on a joyous and celebratory note, leaving behind cherished memories and reaffirming the school’s commitment towards holistic education, cultural appreciation, and the all-round development of its students.
