Laxman Public School, Hauz Khas Enclave, New Delhi, celebrated its Annual Function, Swarajya, on 31st October 2026 with immense pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic fervour. The grand celebration was organised under the able leadership and guidance of the Principal, Ms Seema Bharti Mishra.

The evening commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Ms. Ankita Anand, Director of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, along with Ms. Seema Roy Chowdhury, DDE Zone – 23 (South), and other distinguished dignitaries, including the Chairperson Ms Ratika Agarwal, Vice Chairperson Ms Pallavi Agarwal and members of the Managing Committee Mr Harsh Aggarwal, Mr Ashok Aggarwal and Mr Bharat Aggarwal. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by a graceful dance performed by our tiny tots of class III & IV, accompanied by a live orchestra, setting an elegant and celebratory tone for the occasion.

The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the triumph of knowledge and enlightenment, was accompanied by a soulful choir rendition of Shubham Kuroti Kalyanam. This was followed by a captivating invocation dance performance, a beautiful fusion of Bharatanatyam and Kathak, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, seeking divine blessings for the auspicious beginning of the programme.

The Principal, Ms Seema Bharti Mishra, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the school’s achievements, milestones and its continued commitment to holistic education and excellence. The occasion also recognised the academic accomplishments of students of Classes X and XII through a special prize distribution ceremony, rewarding their hard work, perseverance and dedication.

The highlight of the evening was Swarajya, a powerful theatrical presentation depicting the life, valour and vision of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The presentation beautifully portrayed the profound influence of his mother, Rajmata Jijabai, whose wisdom, courage and visionary guidance shaped his character and nurtured his dream of Swarajya. It highlighted the enduring bond between a mother and her son and the power of values instilled during childhood. Through compelling performances, music and dramatic expressions, the students brought alive the inspiring journey of the great Maratha warrior and his unwavering commitment to self-rule, courage and patriotism.

Following the spectacular theatrical presentation, a second prize distribution ceremony was held to honour the achievements of students from Classes III to IX and Class XI. The ceremony recognised their academic excellence, dedication, and accomplishments, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in all spheres of life.

The Annual Function was a magnificent showcase of the students’ artistic talent, creativity, discipline, and teamwork. The seamless coordination, vibrant performances and thoughtfully curated presentations reflected the collective efforts of the students, teachers and the entire school fraternity.

The presence of the distinguished guests and the appreciation received for the students’ performances made the celebration even more memorable. The event concluded on a note of pride and inspiration, reaffirming Laxman Public School’s commitment to nurturing talent, fostering cultural awareness, and inspiring excellence among its students.

Swarajya was not merely a celebration of the past but a reminder that the spirit of freedom, responsibility, and excellence must continue to guide the generations of tomorrow.
