Cyber Club of Laxman Public School<\/strong> Organizes different activities related to Cyber awareness and <\/strong>to promote cyber hygiene and cyber security best practices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>Cyber Club conducts various activities which are as follows: \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013        Sharing<\/strong> text messages about the importance of Information Technology<\/strong> and being safe in the cyber world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Spreading the tips<\/strong>,\u00a0about Do\u2019s and Don\u2019ts\u00a0<\/strong>while using the Internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013        Displaying Bulletin Boards <\/strong>at prominent places within the school campus for cyber awareness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013        Conducting quizzes and Poster making <\/strong>in regular classes at different class levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013        PowerPoint Presentation<\/strong> in regular classes  at different class levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013        Workshop<\/strong>s in regular classes at different class levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Use safe search options while searching information on the Internet; also check facts before sharing or forwarding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • While performing online banking, shopping or making online payment, check if the website\u2019s URL begins with \u2018https\u2019 (the “s” stands for “secure”), also, look for a green address bar or a security certificate (presented by an icon such as an unopened lock) in the browser window that ensures secure connection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      • Do not use same password for different online transactions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        • Use strong and unique password combinations of numbers, uppercase, lowercase letters and special characters for each account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Use separate email accounts for personal and official purpose. Never use your official email address for social media sites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Avoid using free, unsecured Wi-Fi for shopping or banking on the Internet and also for logging into your social media profiles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Delete old accounts that you do not use any more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Obtain software from trusted sources. Always scan files before opening them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Respect the privacy of others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Adhere to copyright restrictions when downloading material from the Internet, including software, games, movies, or music.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Use an alias\/ alternate name as username when you interact\/chat with others online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Keep the browser, operating system and antivirus up-to-date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Report online bullying immediately to the teacher and parents\/or someone whom you trust.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Lock your screen when you’re finished using your computer\/tablet\/ phone. Further, set it to lock automatically when it goes to sleep.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Check to see if the web address begins with https:\/\/ whenever you sign in online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Make privacy settings in social media accounts in such a way that profile and posts are visible only to close friends and acquaintances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Connect only with known individuals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Lock your screen when you’re finished using your computer\/tablet\/ phone. Further, set it to lock automatically when it goes to sleep.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

        • Don’t send your pictures to unknown persons or share them on social media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t open emails and attachments from strangers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don\u201bt respond to any suspicious email, instant message or web page asking for personal information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t enter a password when someone is sitting beside you as they may see it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don\u201bt share your password with anyone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t save your username and password on the browser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t steal other\u201bs information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don\u201bt access or use files without the permission of the owner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t copy software which has copyright without the author\u201bs permission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t bully others online by teasing, threatening, using rude or offensive language, making derogatory or hateful comments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Connect to proper Wi-Fi network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Have dual or multifactor authentication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t use username and password when other options as such as a token, smartcard, PIN, or even user-selected security images are available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Maintain a list of passwords in a safe place, and change them at least quarterly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Ensure that the computer has the latest patches and keep the browser, operating system and antivirus updated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t assume that the virus detection software works perpetually with computers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don\u2019t share\/ upload confidential data in cloud storage systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Keep a record of all online transactions made and check your bank account regularly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Check e-mails carefully to ensure that the source header is from a valid address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Don’t fall prey to clicking a link to malicious Web sites that load malware into your computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Always delete spam emails immediately and empty the trash box to prevent accidental clicking on the same link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
