Workshop on Acupuncture

Date: 5 July, 2025, Saturday

Resource person: Dr. Pradeep Kumar

To promote holistic health and wellness among educators, a workshop on Acupuncture was organised for the school staff on 5 July, 2025. The session was facilitated by Dr. Pradeep Kumar, a certified acupuncture therapist and wellness expert of Sujok technique.

The workshop began with a brief introduction to the principles of the Korean Sujok technique, highlighting how acupuncture works by stimulating specific points on the body, particularly on hands and feet to promote natural healing and balance. Particular emphasis was placed on how acupuncture can benefit professionals in high-stress environments such as schools, by helping manage:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Chronic fatigue and sleep disturbances
  • Neck, shoulder, and back pain
  • Migraine and tension headaches
  • Digestive issues

Staff members were given a live demonstration on basic pressure points and how acupressure and acupuncture can be used as preventive tools.

Staff members actively participated in a live demonstration, where simple acupressure techniques were shared for self-care.

The workshop concluded with a guided relaxation activity, leaving participants feeling rejuvenated. This session served as a valuable step toward integrating holistic health practices into the school environment and supporting the overall wellness of the staff. The staff expressed gratitude for the insightful session and requested more wellness-focused events in the future.
