Self-Defence Training Programme

for Girl Students

8th July – 18th July 2025

(Conducted by Delhi Police – Malviya Nagar, South District)

Under the guidance and support of our respected Principal, Ms Seema Bharti Mishra, Laxman Public School successfully conducted a Self-Defence Training Programme for girl students from 8th July to 18th July 2025. The initiative aimed to empower students with essential life skills to protect themselves and respond confidently in challenging situations.

Trainers:

The training sessions were conducted by experienced and certified martial arts instructors from the Delhi Police, South District:Ms Asha, Ms Urmila and Ms Suchitra.

Their disciplined yet encouraging approach helped the students feel comfortable, engaged and motivated throughout the programme.

Programme Highlights:

  • The training focused on practical self-defence techniques, including how to block, counter and escape from threatening situations.
  • Students were taught the importance of body language, alertness and quick thinking in potentially unsafe scenarios.
  • The programme included interactive drills, role-plays and scenario-based simulations to make the learning experience engaging and realistic.
  • A special session was also held on legal rights and personal safety tips, enhancing students’ awareness of how to seek help and respond in emergencies.

Participation and Impact:

Girl students from Classes VI to XII actively participated in the week-long programme, conducted over selected days between 8th and 18th July 2025, accommodating weekend breaks and weather-related disruptions. The training not only enhanced their physical abilities but also fostered a sense of empowerment and self-belief.

Certificate Distribution:

On the final day, 18th July 2025, all participating students were awarded certificates of completion by the Delhi Police trainers during a brief closing ceremony. This recognition served as a source of great pride and motivation for the students and was a testament to their commitment and enthusiasm throughout the training.
