A teacher’s role goes beyond imparting knowledge; it involves inspiring, guiding, and shaping young minds. Recognizing this, a workshop on “Motivating Self for Success with Positive Strokes and Respecting Differences” was conducted by Mrs. Usha Ram, for teachers to equip them with strategies for self-motivation, fostering mutual respect and embracing diversity in their professional journey.
The workshop aimed to:
- Develop self-motivation strategies for teachers.
- Encourage the use of positive reinforcement in classrooms.
- Promote respect for diversity in students’ learning styles, backgrounds, and abilities.
- Strengthen teachers’ emotional well-being and resilience.
The workshop focused on the impact of appreciation and recognition. Teachers learned how to use encouraging words, gestures, and feedback to build confidence in students. The importance of role modeling was emphasised. For respecting differences, the discussion highlighted the value of inclusivity and empathy in classrooms. Teachers explored strategies to handle diverse learning needs, cultural backgrounds, and behavioral differences.
The workshop was an enriching experience that not only enhanced teachers’ professional skills but also strengthened their personal outlook. By adopting self-motivation techniques, practicing positive strokes, and respecting differences, teachers are better equipped to nurture confident, motivated, and compassionate learners.
