Laxman Public School celebrated its Annual Day, Darpan 2025, with grandeur, creativity and heartfelt enthusiasm, bringing together students, faculty, parents and esteemed guests for an evening filled with artistic brilliance and meaningful reflection.

The celebration opened with a vibrant welcome by the young learners of the Pre-Primary Department, who, dressed as cheerful performers, set an energetic tone with their lively presentation accompanied by a live musical ensemble.

The ceremony commenced with the dignified lighting of the lamp, symbolizing wisdom, learning and the triumph of knowledge. As the honoured guests lit the ceremonial lamp, the School Choir rendered the auspicious hymn “Shubham Karotī Kalyanam,” filling the auditorium with a serene and divine atmosphere. The ritual was performed by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Swati Singh Verma, wife of Mr. Parvesh Sahib Singh, Minister, Govt. of NCT of Delhi,Mrs. Seema Roy Chowdhary, Deputy Director of Education (Zone 23); Mrs. Ratika Agarwal, Chairperson of the School; Mr. B. M. Mudgal, Manager of the School; along with other distinguished guests.

The Head of School, Ms. Seema Bharti Mishra, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, parents and students, and addressed the gathering with the Principal’s Report. She highlighted the school’s remarkable achievements across academics, sports and holistic development. She emphasized the school’s commitment to future-ready learning, outlining significant advancements such as the introduction of STEM Labs, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Drone Technology, all aimed at preparing students for an evolving global landscape.

Academic excellence was celebrated as meritorious students received awards for their outstanding performance, acknowledging their dedication, perseverance and contribution to the school community.

A soulful dance presentation, “Shivanjali,” followed—an exquisite jugalbandi of Kathak and Bharatanatyam. The performance created a divine blend of rhythm and expression, symbolizing devotion, harmony and the spiritual essence of classical arts.

Adding melodic grace to the evening, the Western Choir presented the School Song, sung with heartfelt unity and precision. Their harmonious rendition filled the hall with emotion and pride, beautifully reflecting the ethos, vision and spirit of Laxman Public School.

The highlight of the evening was the theatrical production “Rashmirathi,” based on the celebrated Hindi epic by Rashtra Kavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. The drama seamlessly connected the era of the Mahabharat to contemporary times, drawing parallels between Kurukshetra and the modern world faced with conflict and moral dilemmas.

Rashmirathi resonated deeply with the audience, showcasing that the struggles between ego and humility, justice and oppression, right and wrong remain timeless.

The elaborate presentation combined dramatic narration, expressive dialogue, evocative music and powerful stage choreography. Students portrayed the life and journey of Karn with remarkable maturity and sensitivity, bringing to life his unwavering loyalty, courage, internal conflicts and inspirational sense of duty.

The play portrayed Karn not merely as a mythological figure but as a beacon of values for today’s youth—encouraging character-building, resilience, gratitude, empathy and moral strength.

Further elevating the evening, students presented a dynamic dance performance on “Viksit Bharat — Developed India.” This act conveyed that true development goes beyond technological growth and infrastructure—it lies in the innovation, integrity and determination of a nation’s people.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants.Darpan 2025 not only showcased student talent and academic excellence but also illuminated profound human values—courage, integrity, empathy and perseverance—powerfully conveyed through the timeless narrative of Rashmirathi.
