Indian rivers, the lifelines of our civilisation, are at dangerous levels of depletion. A nationwide campaign to create awareness is being started by Sadhguru, founder of Isha foundation. As the first step Laxman Public school organised a special morning assembly on 22/08/2017. The programme included an inspiring talk on the importance of rivers, a poem, a group song highlighting the life giving role of rivers and a small play to highlight the measures to be taken to conserve river water and to reduce pollution. Tree plantation on either side of the river was proposed as the first step towards river protection.

As a key step, awareness was created among the students. All the students were asked to give a missed call to the number 8000980009 and promise to protect rivers. Isha foundation members, present on the occasion, applauded the efforts taken by the school.
